After working in the corporate world for 20 years, I was a little burnt out from mergers and acquisitions and was ready to do something different. What would that different be? My goal was to help fulfill a need, preferable for women. Still working at the time, sitting in a salon chair, the wig business was introduced to me. Initially I thought, "Who wears a wig? I don't even know anyone who wears a wig." Well, that is a different story today.

So, June 2003 I quit my job and went to wig school. In October 2003, named after my daughter and son, Amanda Thomas Boutique was born. I rented a small little room in the Stephen Marx Hair Salon in Milford and started dropping off business cards to doctor's offices. I was stunned by the response. Not only did people need such products, but they needed them to be provided by someone who would treat them with respect and the care they deserved.

As they say the rest is history, a year later I moved the business to a larger facility in Amherst and became a certified mastectomy and bra fitter. Our facility became a Medicare accredited facility that was no easy task and every time I thought about quitting, one of my clients would come in and thank me. "Thank you, for being here and doing what you do." This business has truly become a calling for me. I meet AMAZING people daily. I am so inspired by their strength and attitude many of them have when being faced with such difficult challenges in their lives.

Today, my staff and I have a wonderful 3,000 sq ft facility in Merrimack that allows us to offer clients many choices. It is my pleasure and honor to be able to bring these wonderful products and services to you.

In the fall of 2012, I was ready to be more than a "stay at home mom". My two children are middle and high school ages, which has allowed me to join the workforce part time. Since joining the Amanda Thomas team, I have achieved my goal of becoming a Certified Fitter.

I am truly blessed to meet such wonderful clients and I am committed to offering the highest quality of professional service, to give our clients the confidence to feel "beautiful".

While maintaining my "Real" job, I began working part time, Amanda Thomas in 2007, taking my basic mastectomy fitting course in Orlando, Florida. After being laid off in 2013, I was finally able to commit to my "Dream" job full-time employment at Amanda Thomas, where I get to make a difference. I became a Certified Fitter in 2014 and I love helping people and try to bring positivity and compassion to everyone I meet. Every day at Amanda Thomas I am privileged to meet remarkable people. I now have found my "Forever" job.
